Process
This was Sarah’s first full length play she developed in 2019/20 with the support of Nottingham Playhouse as an associate artist and Arts Council. The idea was originally explored on the SOHO writers lab. This concluded with a Rehearsed reading included in the Playhouse’s Unlocked Festival and Spring festival of work.
Alongside ‘Rootless Island Baby’, Sarah founded a young people’s theatre group ‘Rootz’ which still runs now. The ‘Rootz’ group provides a space for Care experienced young people to learn, develop their theatre-related skills and create work shared alongside other participation groups on the main stage at Nottingham Playhouse.
